About
The Eaton Fire devastated my beloved Altadena, and after one year of waiting, Altadena Sarangahe is ready launch. I'm committed to raising funds for Altadena Arts Magnet School, Eliot Arts, and John Muir High School. Our schools were hit the hardest and the community is still recovering.
Right now, I am selling two retail items: Altadena Saranghae and 20% will be donated first to Altadena Arts Elementary, then Eliot, and lastly John Muir.
In addition, I will be going after grant funding that will directly support music, French, dance and the arts.
Witnessing the educational inequities of educational injustices within my community, my goal is to level the playing field that all children regradless of race, abilities will have the opportunity to THRIVE.

Created in response to the Eaton Fire, Altadena Saranghae supports local schools and the community that calls Altadena home.

My name is Carol Kim Chung, a Korean American born and raised in the foothills of Pasadena and Altadena. In a community where few families looked like mine, I often stood out, yet I always felt rooted in the place that shaped me. At San Rafael Elementary, I was the only Korean American student, which led to many moments of sharing and explaining my heritage.
Altadena became an essential part of my story through the Pasadena Unified School District’s busing program. I attended Eliot Middle School, where I built lasting friendships with classmates from Linda Vista, Noyes, and Luther Burbank. Those relationships created core memories and deepened my love for Altadena, influencing who I am today.
